Scott was born in Chicago, IL and was there long enough to become a Cubs fan. Thankfully, the Caldwell Cubs were here when he moved to Nampa in 1967. After some excursions to Portland and Seattle he returned to Nampa where he now lives.
Scott received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Boise State University. He went on to get his Masters of Science in Nursing at Gonzaga University, specializing in psychiatry (PMHNP-BC). He is a Certified Addictions Registered Nurse and has his waiver for Medication Assisted Therapy in assisting those that want to stop using opiates through Suboxone.
As with the Ignatian Jesuit philosophy of Gonzaga University, Scott focuses on treating the whole person – intellectually, spiritually, culturally, physically, and emotionally. He is committed to the dignity of the human person, social justice, diversity, supporting the poor and vulnerable and care for our planet.
Scott enjoys the outdoors with his wife Jessica and dog Rubi. Many of you already know his son Tyler Watkins, who he followed into nursing. His daughter, Tiffany teaches physics at BSU and he has 4 grandkids between the two. He is happy to return to Council, where he precepted with Sue Warner during his training.
