Current Job Openings at ACHC

 

Adams County Health Center (ACHC) is now hiring a full-time Dental Assistant. We are looking for a positive team member who is flexible and enjoys variety in the work environment. A dental assistant will work under the direct supervision of the Dental Director or dentist on duty and will assist the dentist in the routine handling of patients, instruments, supplies, and materials. This position comes with a great benefit package that includes health insurance, life insurance, dental, vision, retirement, vacation, and life flight membership. We are also willing to train someone for this position and will reimburse that person for getting the dental assistant certification while working for us. Also, there are No nights, No on-call, and No weekend hours!

ACHC is a Federally Qualified Health Center located in Council, Idaho. We take great pride in improving the lives of people in our communities and was recently recognized nationally for increasing access to affordable health care! Our patient population is all ages, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults all who would benefit from another medical provider. It keeps the day interesting.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. Graduation from accredited school of Dental Assisting or minimum 2 yrs. clinical experience in general dentistry.
3. Prior dental office experience is preferred.
4. Bilingual preferred, but not required

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
1. Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology; skill in the use of the tools and equipment of the dental assistant profession.
2. Capacity to act in a professionally courteous manner when interacting with patients, providers, and other employees.
3. Excellent customer services skills
4. Able to organize, work, and function effectively in a busy environment.
5. Able to follow all HIPAA laws and regulations.
6. Pleasant telephone and patient reception manner.
7. Ability to maintain records and prepare reports related to the work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist dentist with all dental treatments and procedures that is within the scope of dental assistant training.
2. Document all dental procedures according to dentist’s instructions.
3. Sterilize dental instruments and equipment for each patient.
4. Take x-rays of patients' teeth.
5. Take impressions of patients' teeth for casts.
6. Obtain patient dental records.
7. Obtain, maintain, and document patient medical history.
8. Provide dental education to patients about dental health and continuing treatment.
9. Perform scheduling of appointments, answer telephones, collect payments at time of service, etc.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
